38 down - 10 to go
there's something comforting about the knowledge that Bush has less than 10 months remaining in office. a knowledge that he'll soon be swept up on the dust bin of history. whoever comes next cannot damage the country as much & hopefully will repair some of his mistakes.
must be time to review McCain to see what he offers.
for the positives
must be time to review McCain to see what he offers.
for the positives
- he's in favor of amnesty
- he wants to close Gitmo
- he called falwell/robertson 'agents of intolerance"
- he's opposed to torture
- he's requested no ear marks
- he voted 'no' to Bush's tax cuts
negatives
- he appears to have no domestic policy plans beyond veto-ing ear marks.caved in on torture too easily to Bush
- sucked up to Falwell at the end
- he's delusional to believe that "don't think Americans are concerned if we're there for a hundred years, or a thousand years, or ten thousand years". 10,000 years ago would be 7,992 B.C.E. just for the record.
- it's pathetic that any major politician would not know the difference now between Shiite & Sunni. if you do believe that our battle with jihadists is the battle of our lifetime, then how can you not know your enemy? truly pathetic to be that ignorant 5 years after the war started.
